In the opening match of IPL 2019, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fell to a disappointing defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK's spin attack, led by Harbhajan Singh, proved to be too strong for RCB's batsmen.
Singh took three wickets, including the key wickets of RCB captain Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. CSK's bowlers restricted RCB to a total of just 70 runs, which CSK chased down easily with eight wickets in hand.
In other IPL news, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 37 runs. Suryakumar Yadav was the star for MI, scoring an unbeaten 51 runs off just 39 balls. MI's bowlers also impressed, with Jasprit Bumrah taking three wickets.
